For their “signature project” this year, 300 mTech.Academy students from 10 schools worked on the Smart Cities Challenge. With strong support from local industry, the students researched smart cities around the world to develop solutions that will help transform their own Northern Ireland communities into the smart cities of the future.
During the Student Showcase, the students will present their Smart Cities Challenge solutions and discuss their experiences in the mTech.Academy programme over the last year. In addition to the student presentations, executives from mTech.Academy partners PwC and BT, as well as MATRIX NI, will share their insights on the future of technology, work and education in Northern Ireland and the opportunities and challenges we see in the digital world.
